Counselling at Summit Within

How We Work

Our practitioners bring complementary orientations to the work, spanning the patterns and systems of our lives, the emotional experiences that move through us, and the meaning we make of our relationships and histories. We don't just work alongside one another, we come together as a collective — each perspective informing and enriching the others.

Your relationship with your primary counsellor is at the heart of your care. This relationship — the rapport, the trust, and the shared understanding that builds over time — is what makes the work possible. In service of this relationship, your counsellor can also bring in the perspectives of our team — creating possibilities for new ways of seeing and more tailored care, always with your knowledge and consent.

For couples, our model offers something even more distinctive. A couple may work with one counsellor, while each partner also works individually with another counsellor within the same practice. Because our counsellors work as a collective, the relational and individual work can inform each other. Both are supported by the practice as a whole, so you don't have to hold the weight of it alone.

Therapeutic Perspectives We Draw From

The perspectives below reflect the breadth of our collective approach, drawn on thoughtfully and tailored to what each person needs.

Narrative Therapy

Exploring the stories we tell about ourselves and the world, and uncovering new ways of understanding and relating to our experiences.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Examining the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, helping to identify patterns and experiment with new ways of responding.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Developing emotional awareness and resilience through practical skills for managing intense feelings and relationships.

Gottman Method

Strengthening intimacy, navigating conflict, and creating shared meaning in romantic relationships.

Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)

Understanding, and harmonizing the multiple “parts” of oneself under the guidance of the Self.

Nature Therapy

Harnessing the grounding and restorative effects of the natural world to support wellbeing and perspective.

Relational Therapy

Understanding the self in the context of relationships and the wider world, strengthening connection and self-awareness.

Somatic Therapy

Tuning into the body as a source of insight, integrating cognitive, physical, and emotional experiences.

Our Services

Met with care, complexity can begin to loosen its hold. This is where a clearer view unfolds.

Meet The Team

We believe that different ways of working offer different ways of seeing.

Summit Within brings together three practitioners whose approaches are genuinely complementary — not by accident, but by design. Between us, our practice is at once emotionally alive, structurally grounded, and always in search of meaning.

Where Do We Begin

Taking the first step looks different for each person. You might complete a short questionnaire to help us shape the support that’s right for you, reach out to a counsellor directly to book a discovery call, or simply contact us to talk it through. Whenever you're ready, we're here.
